Important notice

By registering, signing in, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

Definitions

Platform: The PSG iTech Canteen website, web and mobile applications, APIs, and any services operated by PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research for canteen ordering, wallet management, and related features.

Wallet: An electronic store of value maintained on the Platform for topping up, paying for orders, and receiving approved refunds.

Administration: The canteen administration, campus dining office, authorized staff, and agents responsible for operating the canteen, managing orders, refunds, and user support.

User: Any person who registers, signs in, or uses the Platform for browsing, ordering, payment, or other services, including students, staff, visitors, and guests.

Privacy and data handling on the Platform are governed by our Privacy Policy available on the Privacy Policy page.

1. Eligibility and account accuracy

You must provide accurate registration details and keep your account information current. You are responsible for all activity performed through your account, including wallet use and order placement. If your account is assigned to a roll number, department, staff identity, or external user profile, it must be used by the authorized person only. Roll number or identity details used for registration must be valid and officially assigned. Any unauthorized use of your account must be reported to canteen administration immediately.

2. Ordering and item availability

All items are subject to live stock availability, preparation capacity, menu windows, and operating hours. We may accept, modify, delay, or cancel orders when stock runs out, an item is mispriced, or a technical issue affects fulfillment. Menu listings and descriptions are provided for convenience and may change without prior notice. Menu images are for representation purposes only; actual appearance, portion size, or presentation may vary depending on preparation and availability. A generated bill is valid only for the day of purchase, and unprinted bills may expire at daily close. Bills ordered via a specific outlet can only be printed at that respective outlet.

While the Platform facilitates ordering, matters such as food taste, food quality, texture, preparation style, appearance, hygiene execution, portion size, and presentation are managed entirely by canteen operations and kitchen staff and not by the website or software platform.

3. Wallets, payments, and billing

Wallet balances, card payments, and any other supported payment methods are used only for canteen services unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for confirming payment details before checkout. Successful payment does not guarantee fulfillment if an operational issue occurs, but verified failed transactions will be reviewed by the administration.

Payments on the Platform may be processed through third-party payment gateways, banks, or payment service providers. The Platform is not responsible for gateway downtime, network outages, bank processing delays, or other issues caused by third-party payment providers. Approved refunds are dependent on the payment provider or bank and may take several business days to appear in your account; processing times vary by provider and banking partner.

  • Wallet balances are linked to a single account and are not transferable.
  • Wallet balances cannot be withdrawn as physical cash.
  • Wallet balances currently have no expiry while the account remains active, unless policy changes are announced.
  • Refunds are handled only for verified system errors or approved administrative cases.
  • Receipts, bills, and order codes should be retained until the order is completed.
  • Outlet-Specific Bill Printing: Bills and token slips ordered via a specific outlet can only be printed at the kiosk located at that respective outlet. Orders placed for one outlet cannot be printed or fulfilled at kiosks in other outlets.

4. Cancellations, changes, and disputes

Once an order is confirmed or preparation has started, cancellation may not be possible. Refunds are generally not allowed after credit/order placement, except for verified system errors. Disputes about missing items, duplicate charges, or failed top-ups should be reported promptly to the canteen team with supporting details such as the order number, time, and payment reference, preferably within 24 hours. Verified dispute outcomes and exception refunds are processed at the administration’s discretion.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Platform, manipulate payments, bypass security controls, abuse staff workflows, impersonate another user, or interfere with system integrity. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to: scraping or bulk harvesting of data; automated or scripted requests that bypass normal user interactions; unauthorized use of APIs or backend endpoints; attempts to exploit, probe, or defeat security controls; submitting malformed or malicious requests intended to disrupt services; and any activity designed to impair the Platform or its services.

We actively protect the Platform against abuse. Detected abuse may result in rate-limiting, IP or device blocking, temporary suspension, or permanent termination of accounts. We reserve the right to pursue civil or criminal remedies and to cooperate with law enforcement when appropriate.

If your account is suspended, you may contact the canteen administration to request a review or appeal. Provide relevant details (account identifier, roll number or staff ID, order numbers, and timestamps) to assist the review; the administration will respond as soon as reasonably possible.

6. Service availability and limitations

The platform is provided on an as-available basis. Maintenance, network outages, power failures, browser incompatibilities, printer issues, or third-party service interruptions may affect access. Service may also be affected by force majeure events beyond reasonable control. To the maximum extent permitted by law, PSG iTech Canteen is not liable for indirect or consequential losses caused by downtime or temporary unavailability.

7. Intellectual property

All trademarks, logos, layout choices, content, and software elements shown in the platform remain the property of PSG iTech Canteen or its licensors. You may not copy, redistribute, or reverse engineer the platform except where permitted by law.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or technical changes. The revised version becomes effective when posted on this page. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised terms. Privacy handling remains governed by the campus policy published on our Privacy Policy page.

9. Governing law and institutional regulations

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable laws of India and the institutional regulations of PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research, located in Tamil Nadu, India. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts or dispute resolution mechanisms in Tamil Nadu, to the extent permitted by law and institutional policy.

10. Contact

For order disputes, account concerns, or policy questions, contact the canteen administration office or the support team associated with your campus dining account. All complaints, disputes, or concerns related to food quality, food preparation, missing items, hygiene, portion size, or service experience must be directed to the canteen administration or official support channels so they can be investigated and resolved.
